KBP to Hold Forum on Middle East Conflict, Implications for the Philippines
April 15th, 2026

MAKATI, Philippines — April 15, 2026 – The Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), in partnership with the Philippine Academic Society for Climate and Disaster Resilience (PASCDR), the UP Resilience Institute (UPRI), and the Philippine Social Science Council (PSSC), will hold an online forum on April 22, 2026, to examine the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and its implications for the Philippines.

Titled “US/Israel–Iran Conflict and Its Implications for the Philippines,” the forum will bring together experts in geopolitics, economics, and political science to provide a clearer understanding of recent developments in the region and their broader global consequences. As tensions continue to affect international security and energy markets, the discussion is expected to highlight how these developments may impact oil-dependent economies such as the Philippines.

The forum aims to equip broadcasters and media practitioners with the necessary context and analytical tools to report on the issue accurately and responsibly. With the increasing complexity of global conflicts and the rapid spread of information, KBP underscores the importance of informed, balanced, and context-driven reporting, particularly on issues with significant economic and public interest implications.

Participants can expect discussions on possible scenarios arising from the conflict, its potential effects on global trade and energy prices, and the corresponding impact on the Philippine economy and public welfare. The forum will also examine government strategies to mitigate these risks and provide practical insights relevant to newsroom coverage and public affairs programming.

An open discussion segment will allow participants to engage directly with the speakers, enabling a deeper exchange of perspectives and clarification of key issues.

The event forms part of the KBP Learning Session Series in line with the organization’s 53rd Anniversary celebration, reflecting its continuing commitment to professional development and responsible broadcasting.

KBP encourages all member stations, particularly those involved in news and public affairs, to participate in this timely and relevant discussion.
